This photo
was taken on horseback- hence the elevated view and some blurring.
The rider(s) had made their way from the old riding school in
Tram lane down Mill Street into the lane which runs behind Castle
Street to the old quay by the Hanbury.
Nowadays this view could not be repeated - the burial ground was
cleared to make way for houses, Hanbury Close. See also these
