"This fine group of aspiring actors formed some of the main characters in Caerleon Comprehensive Schools’ Production of A.A Milnes’ Toad of Toad Hall in 1966
The cast were tutored by a brilliant young Drama teacher, Miss Jenkins who directed the whole show and masterfully taught the cast how to get into character and importantly how to remember their lines.
It was quite an ambitious project at the time in the relatively new school however for the first time, children had a proper stage, great lighting and a spacious hall with very good acoustics.
Prior to this the old school would most likely have had to use the Old Town Hall building.
It was a whole-school team effort, and pretty much departments and students contributing in the making of the backdrops, props, clothes and makeup." |
