Do you recognise anyone here?
The house to the right of the picture looks as if it
was on its last legs
and it was. Shortly after this
photo was taken the cottage was demolished. The last occupant
was Miss A. Gray. The house to the left, immediately recognisable
by the brickwork around the windows, is of course still
standing.
Lionel Turner kindly sent us the picture. He used to
live across the road in 52 Mill Street, the end house
of Cecil Terrace. After the war Lionel lived for a while
in the former army camp at the top of Lodge Hill. You
