Mike Griffiths kindly sent us this picture. It belonged to his mother Beryl Griffiths (maiden name Powell) who was born at 2 High St , Caerleon in 1918. He told us: "her siblings were also born there and her brother Tony Powell lived in the house all his life. I remember him going out at the end of the day to light the gas lamps around the village. He was well known and was a popular local figure".
