taken in the 1950s. Many families could not afford a 'proper holiday',
so following the August Bank Holiday, a 'Holidays At Home' week was held
in Caerleon. Above and below we can see shots of the Barrel Rolling event.
The week started with a carnival procession and the crowning of the Carnival Queen and included sporting events and dances. |
